My name is Christopher Jay Fetterman and I moved to Flowery Branch in July of 2005. Prior to my current residency here, I lived in Lawrenceville, Georgia where I moved to in 1996 after an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army.
During my enlistment in the military I, went through Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. My first assigned duty station was Fort McClellan, Alabama where I was deployed to Southwest Asia to serve in Operation Desert Shield/Storm with the 46th Combat Heavy Engineer Battalion. A year or so after I returned, I was stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington in the 555th Combat Engineer Battalion.
I enlisted into the United States Army less than a month after I graduated from high school in a small town in Upstate New York called Penn Yan. Penn Yan is a small community that is located on Keuka Lake that is part of the Finger Lakes region.
My father, Tim Fetterman, is a native of Penn Yan and my Mother, Sarah Coles, is a Southern Bell who was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and moved to Atlanta, the Piedmont area, at the age of 3 where she was raised until she moved to Penn Yan where she married my father.
While stationed in Alabama I married my wife Stacy and she accompanied me on my duty assignment at Fort Lewis, Washington. After my discharge, we had several choices of areas to move to where we would want to start our careers and raise our family, but the Atlanta area was the most obvious.
Once in the Atlanta area, I was able to find a job with a local grading company and a year or so after I found another. After a couple of years of construction work, I found my current employer where over the past twelve plus years, I have served in several capacities in which I have gained the knowledge and skills to run a business to ensure sustainability and profitability.
My wife has been in the banking industry since high school where she worked part time as a Customer Service Representative and has worked in several positions including Loan Officer, Branch Manager, and Compliance Officer of a local community bank.
Since we moved to Georgia, we have had two children, who we love dearly, our daughter Jordan, who is 13, and our son Ethan, who is 5. Both of them are typical children who keep us on our toes and now we are the typical parents getting our children to their sports and extracurricular activities.
